About Deb

Hi my name is Deb Edwards-Brown of Weddings on the Run – Elope with the Travelling Celebrant. I have been having an absolute ball as a Commonwealth Registered Marriage Celebrant and celebrant of all life stories for some 16 years after, creating Cloud Nine Celebrancy Services in 2010 and what a way to live life.

However, a number of challenging changes over the past couple of years has encouraged me to look at what comes next for us and how to achieve all that we dream of, whilst still doing a little of what I love – marrying couples!

And so, in June 2025 a plan was formulated along with a whole new vision for my celebrant services and for the next part of our journey. Weddings on the Run – Elope with the Travelling Celebrant finally came to fruition.

The plan for us is simple, to share in Elopements and Legals Only ceremonies, both while we are in Emu Park and also when we are off travelling.

We will keep you updated as to where we off to, so that you can elope in that amazing location or close by. Whether you are a local waiting for me to arrive in your home town or even if you are somewhere in Australia and would like to travel to where we are for something a little different. Sound like fun? The ‘Run Away With Me’ experience gives you a choice of 3 short sample ceremonies for those couples wanting to elope or have an elopement/registry style ceremony in a beautiful location.

'No Fuss – You're Married' – Legals Only Ceremony

‘No Fuss’ package is just that, a legal paperwork-only ceremony. (With your two witnesses only).

Legal vows & (Personal vows if you would like)

General Inclusions:

Preparation of meeting documentation
Preparation of ceremony documentation
General administrative work pre- & post-meetings
Completion & submission of marriage documentation for registration of marriage

All meetings and document signing to be conducted by Zoom or some form of video link up unless you are on the Capricorn Coast.

What You Need to Know

The Notice of Intended Marriage

A Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form must be lodged at least one calendar month & up to 18 months before your wedding date. This is to ensure you are thinking about the commitment you are making and allows you to get married legally on the day of your choice.

Before your first meeting, your celebrant will provide you with a link to, or an emailed Word and PDF version of the Notice of Intended Marriage form. At your meeting your celebrant will then guide you on all the legal aspects of your wedding ceremony.

At your meeting you will need to give your celebrant evidence of your date and place of birth, and your identity as well as proof that any previous marriages have ended legally for each party, if applicable, along with proof of your address. Your celebrant may also ask you to complete a statutory declaration to support any of your evidence.

These forms can also be downloaded and signed by other authorised people apart from your celebrant.

The NOIM can be lodged by one of you but the other must sign it before the date of the marriage.

In special circumstances you may be able to receive a shortening of this time by applying to your celebrant, however, there is a fee by the court for this application.

After You Are Married

On the day of your wedding, you will sign three marriage certificates. Each certificate should be signed by both parties to the marriage, your celebrant and your two witnesses. Your celebrant will give you one of the certificates as a record of your marriage.

Your celebrant must and will register your marriage with the registry of births, deaths and marriages in the state or territory it took place within fourteen days.

The certificate issued by the registry of births, deaths and marriages is required for many official purposes.
